Some Thoughts on Delphi Software Maintenance

TwoDesk Delphi Blog – I was recently reading up on various aspects of “best practices” in software development, and came across a paper The Economics of Software Maintenance in the Twenty First Century. The basic point of this paper is that most (up to 70%) of the effort expended by programmers is spent on “maintenance,” and there are various things that can be done to reduce that cost (and pain). On page 11, there is a table “Impact of Key Adjustment Factors on Maintenance,” which sums up the results of examining how 27 practices and other factors relate to maintenance costs ...
