How to Visualize Data From FireDAC on Maps with TMS FNC Maps and Delphi

FireDAC is a powerful multi-device data access library with a unique set of Universal Data Access Components for developing multi-device database applications for both Delphi and C++ Builder. It is not just limited to Windows application development as it offers complete cross-platform support for RAD Studio. Compared to other database access components, FireDAC is a relatively easy-to-use access layer that supports, abstracts, and simplifies data access, providing all the features needed to build real-world high-load applications.

In this video from the recently concluded DelphiCon 2023 which also coincided with Delphi’s 28th Anniversary, Holger Flick of TMS Software will discuss the use of FireDAC and its full potential in data visualization. In this particular session, Holger will show how surprisingly easy it is to display information on maps. He will also introduce us to TMS FNC Maps which will enable us to add markers to the map and use clustering.

Everything You Should Know About FNC Maps by TMS

Holger will highlight the amazing technology behind FNC Mapping. It is said to be cross-framework allowing you to drop the components either on a VCL form, FireMonkey, or web form for TMS Webcore. -This also makes FNC Mapping a cross-platform, allowing you to write applications in multiple platforms like Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux. It also provides cross-service that enables you to utilize services from Google Maps, Apple Mapkit, and OpenLayers to name a few.

The video will also highlight all the notable components and additional features of FNC Maps that users can take advantage of, including Geocoding features, routing, and the ability to acquire current location. Using FireDAC and some components of FNC Maps, Holger will demonstrate how easy it is to visualize data on Maps. The component also comes with a great number of Events that you can explore and apply to either make the app visually appealing or to create additional mapping functionality.

Holger will also demonstrate the step-by-step process of visualizing data on the map using both Delphi and TMS FNC Maps. The session also concludes with a Q&A session led by Embarcadero MVPs Ian Barker and Jim Mckeeth
