Great answer by Cosmin Prund: How and when are variables referenced in Delphi’s anonymous methods captured? – Stack Overflow

The Wiert Corner – Every once in a while, by accident you stumble on a really great answer on StackOverflow. First Steps with Smart Mobile Studio

The Delphi Geek – “JavaScript is Assembly Language for the Web”  [original author unknown] I learned about that idea from the omnipresent Hanselmann and I fully agree with it. JavaScript has its good moments, but they are completely outweighed by the total mess and confusion that is the JavaScript language ...

LiveBindings Part 2 – Displaying database data in a VCL (or FireMonkey) application

Australian Delphi User Group Members – A perhaps not so well known fact about LiveBindings is that they can be used in VCL as well as FireMonkey applications. The traditional VCL data-aware controls are still available though and for reasons that will quickly become apparent, I … Continue reading →

IDE Fix Pack 4.6.6 – bug fix release

Andy's Blog – My changes to the directory cache in version 4.6.5 that I released yesterday introduced a new bug where the debugger wasn’t able to find the unit source files if you debugged project groups with relative library paths. I’m sorry for that bug. I had a test case for it from the 4.6.1 release but I was ...

IDE Fix Pack 4.6.5 released

Andy's Blog – With version 4.6.1 I fixed a directory cache bug but also introduced a new one. Units in the DPR’s directory weren’t found anymore and the existing DCU file was used instead of recompiling the unit. In my tests I hadn’t cleared the DCU output directory and so the compiler always took the DCU from a ...

Marco's Tech Blog – This page on Quora about Skype is quite old (two years, which in the Internet age is a lot!), but wasn't linked much and wasn't linked by myself although I did blog about Delphi and Skype several times. Came to my attention last month, and now that I'm doing my new year email cleaning up, find it is ...

Ping 2012!

Yet Another Programming Blog – Yes,  I am still here. 2011 was a very challenging year for me: in January 2011 I have been offered a very tempting position a company and I have accepted it. It’s a very small “services” company but with large expansions plans. The whole 2011 I was busy building a new system, ...
